Call 2024: Towards a Global History of Economic Thought

In the first annual webinar series on the Global History of Economic Thought, we sought to explore Europe as a whole, rather than as the sum of 27 or more nation-states, in search of some key features of her ‘unity in diversity’. In the next annual series, we would like to go beyond Europe while maintaining the two basic assumptions of our approach to global history, namely: 1. The history of economic thought is much more than a pure history of economic theories. It also shows how theories are transformed into economic visions that shape public opinion and policymakers. 2. The political power of economic ideas also manifests itself at transnational and/or supranational level. This Call is addressed to all those who wish to present a working paper or a recently published essay or book concerning the Global History of Economic Thought.
